About Emergency Dentistry Services

Experteeth provides assessment and initial management of urgent dental problems, including tooth pain, dental injuries and suspected infection, during clinic opening hours and subject to appointment availability. Treatment depends on the findings and may involve temporary care, further appointments or referral. Your dentist will explain the available options, relevant risks and expected costs before treatment.

Advantages of Our Emergency Services

Appointment Availability: Call your nearest clinic during opening hours to explain your symptoms and check the earliest available appointment. Same-day appointments depend on availability.

Pain Management: We assess the cause of dental pain and discuss appropriate treatment or temporary measures. Relief and recovery depend on the condition, and further treatment may be needed.

Language Support: Chinese- and English-speaking staff are available at selected clinics or times. Please check language support when booking.

Scope of Emergency Care

Acute Dental Pain: Assessment of severe or persistent tooth or gum pain to identify the cause and appropriate care.

Dental Injuries: Assessment of broken, displaced or knocked-out teeth. A knocked-out adult tooth needs immediate dental attention; do not wait for a routine appointment.

Dental and Oral Infections: Assessment of suspected dental infection, including problems around wisdom teeth. Spreading swelling, fever or feeling unwell requires urgent assessment; some infections need hospital care.

Post-Extraction Bleeding: Assessment of persistent bleeding after an extraction, with treatment or referral according to its severity. Heavy bleeding that cannot be controlled requires emergency medical care.

Emergency Service Hours

Call your nearest Experteeth clinic to confirm opening hours and discuss your symptoms and appointment availability. Same-day appointments may be available but cannot be guaranteed. If the clinic is closed or cannot see you promptly, seek another urgent dental service or call healthdirect on 1800 022 222 for advice. Do not wait for an online booking response if urgent care is needed.

Call 000 for difficulty breathing or swallowing, heavy uncontrolled bleeding, or a life-threatening injury. Rapidly increasing facial or neck swelling, particularly with fever or feeling very unwell, requires urgent hospital assessment.
